The Belarusian player finished the tour with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam match record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight year.

The twenty-seven-year-old won four tournament victories – the most on tour – including successfully defending the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of High Performance

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she achieved the status of being the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Achievements

Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and earned a record eleven million pounds in earnings.

She received nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a higher level".
