Former President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the family of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Tragic Incident

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a attack on Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Vigils across the state have occurred in their remembrance.

Presidential Call

The president said he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both members of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president addressed the press. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Support

Mourners assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s government program to aid policing efforts in DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that instructors hoped for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted people around her,” the principal, the head of Beckstrom’s alma mater, told the media. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to support those in need.”

Funeral details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Actions and Government Changes

Officials have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The event led the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop providing entry permits to holders of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader the governor stated on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi told a news show that she also intended to speak to his relatives.

Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with distinction, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had bravery,” he informed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
