Eulogies Continue for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.
Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community persist in remembering the pair.
Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director
Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt ready to post publicly about his personal sorrow.
"Enough time has gone by that I can now express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced spending more time together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the film, remarking that he cannot recall "a single day without mirth".
"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes expressed.
He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist
In a distinct tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.
"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he understood the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.
Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Withheld
Recently, a Los Angeles court official agreed to prevent the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the LAPD.
A court order issued a restriction on the cases to prohibit the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.
The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a public database citing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
